This is Champion Waldmeister Mischka J.W.  She is a daughter of Champion Drakesleat Ris Otto and Waldmeister Holly.  She is a grand-daughter of our German dog, Gino and has followed his excellent outgoing temperament.  She is sharp, active and the happiest dog we have ever owned.  Mischka was awarded the Reserve CC and Best Puppy at Midland Counties Championship Show in October 2006, ending her puppy career in style.  Mischka gained her Junior Warrant at the Dachshund Club of Wales, at 15 months, when she won Post Graduate Bitch.  Mischka was awarded the CC and Best of Breed at Midland Counties 2007 under Zena Thorn Andrews!!!!!!  Mischka was awarded her second CC at Crufts 2009, and her third at Birmingham National 2009.

On the right is Waldmeister Liberty, who is a daughter of Gino, our German import and Champion Waldmeister Meadow.  Libby is also Jackson's mum.  Liberty is probably the best hunter of all our bitches.  She never misses anything and will climb walls, swim, dig and keep on going until she finds what she has scented.  Liberty hasn't been shown very much, she has just finished her second stint of maternal duty but on the occasions she has been shown, she has done well. always in a Crufts qualifying place.  Libby's speed and turn of foot are amazing!

Guillie (below) (Waldmeister Guillemot JW), is a grand-daughter of CH W. Meadow (above) - this is a picture of her at the Wire-Haired Dachshund Club Championship Show in September 2007, where she was Best Puppy in Breed.  Guillie was top mini wire puppy for 2007, gaining Best Puppy in Breed at several Championship Shows - she also gained the last point for her Junior Warrant at Ashfield Canine Society on 13th October 2007, at 11 months, where she was also Best Puppy in Show!!

Champion Waldmeister Meadow (on the left) is a daughter of our original Dachshund (Brialind Lilly Lace at Waldmeister) and Dalegarth Ruff Copy.  Meadow was awarded the Bitch CC at her very first show at 6 months and 2 days.  She went on to gain 5 CC's, 3 Best of Breeds (including Crufts 2006) and 5 Reserve CC's.  She is now relaxing at home, hunting on the  moor every day and keeping the others in their place!  Meadow is probably the easiest, least demanding of our dogs.  She has a superb coat and a wonderful temperament.

Below is our latest addition Waldmeister Steffi J.W. (W Henry JW x W Liberty), she was born on 4th October 2008.   She was awarded Best Puppy from her first 2 open shows and achieved Hound Puppy Group 2 at the first show, Hound Group 1 and Hound Puppy Group 1 at the next show - so a good start to her career!  Steffi was 3rd at her first Championship show and 2nd at her next championship show, both qualifying places for Crufts 2010.  She was also 2nd in the Puppy Stakes at W.E.L.K.S.  Steffi was awarded the Bitch CC and Best Puppy at Paignton 2009 and the Bitch CC, Best Puppy and Best of Breed at Welsh Kennel Club 2009 and is currently top puppy in the breed for 2009.  She has gained her Junior Warrant at 10 months!

Below is Ora von den Kleinen Banditen at Waldmeister, our new German import, with Claas Janssen from the Nimrods kennel in Barstede, Northern Germany.  We collected her from him on 28th September and are delighted with her.  She is a demon hunter, has a wonderful temperament and a super pin wire coat.  Click here for pics of Ora and our trip to collect her.  In order to keep the hunting instinct alive and to widen our gene pool, we decided to bring Ora in to ensure that both aspects of the Dachshund breed remain alive.  Ora is just getting used to English life, trying to understand English commands and having a good time playing with the others and leading the way out on the moor.

Above is Ora having a last look at her home country before we left for England, and below is Ora learning to do a show stand in the garden after being here only a week.
