BANDITEN AT WALDMEISTER"
Waldmeister is the home of Full Champion Meggamooch Gypsy at Waldmeister, Show
Champion Waldmeister Martell and Champions Waldmeister Meadow (Best of Breed
Crufts 2006!), Waldmeister Mischka J.W. and Waldmeister Henry J.W. All the Waldmeister dogs
have the desired temperament and possess instinct and working ability, some of
them are exhibited in the show-ring and all are much loved pets too. The Sussex
were used all the shooting season in the beating line and the Dachshunds are
used when needed, at farmers request, to drive out problem foxes from
natural and artificial lairs. We are striving to breed healthy dogs that conform to the
breed standard and can perform the tasks they were created for, with a bold and
outgoing temperament that makes the dachshund so appealing.

All the Dachshunds are trained
from a very early age, to walk alongside sheep and even through flocks
of sheep. They know that they are not allowed to chase sheep.
When they are a few weeks old, they are taken onto the moor with the
others and walked on a long field line. If they go to chase the
sheep, the field line is given a sharp tug that takes them off their
feet - that is usually the first and last time they go to chase the
sheep! |
